Day 5 of the #12daysofholidaygiftwrap….

Hello again!

I’ve got the sweetest little gift bag in this #12daysofholidaygiftwrap series to share with you today!

It’s stamped and colored!  Remember how I said on day one, that any way possible to squeeze some recreational crafting into this hectic holiday season is a good thing?  Well coloring stamped images that will actually check something off your list can only be called a Win/WIN!

Once more, I used a smaller, A2 card-sized bag, that I cut down even further, so that with the top decoratively punched and folded over the finished size is square.  Again, perfect for gifting a dvd-sized package.  Then I just stamped one of my favorite holiday images with black ink, and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, and colored the image with Copic markers.

Helpful hint:  I tucked a piece of cardstock inside the bag while coloring so that the ink wouldn’t seep through to the back of the bag, which will happen with alcohol markers.  For the white flowers I colored them in with a Signo white Uniball pen.  Gorgeous even coverage!

Finally, I tied the bag up like a parcel with black and white butcher’s twine, including a gold leaf and stamped tag, and then added some extra flair with the label sticker and houndstooth washi tape.

All supplies used are pictured below.

Check back tomorrow for yet more gift-packaging inspiration!

The Countdown is on….

Only a few more days till the biggest gift-giving day of the year!  Maybe you’ve remembered just a couple more gifts you want to give, or you want a nice home-made touch to take a completely average gift up a notch to special or even spectacular.  Well, here’s a quick and easy way to do that.  Cute, home-made tags.  With minimal supplies.

It’s as simple as taking some ready made tags (or make your own if you don’t have any on hand), and use your punches, dies or electronic cutter (like a Silhouette or Cricut) to cut negative shapes from your tags.

I used some of my sentiment stamps to write the “to” and “from” but you could just as easily typewrite or hand print that part.

Then, a little bit of bakers twine and you are good to go, with a super simple but cute gift tag!

I hope you’re not too stressed with the coming holidays and are able to enjoy all the comforts and joys of spending time with friends and family!
