And baby makes 3…

Well, I got a start on the baby layouts on Father’s Day, and I just kept on going from there!  As a result, I have another Archie layout to share today!

newfamily-red

I began with a sheet of white-washed wood grain from the Kaisercraft Ooh La La line, keeping the coral accent strip along the the bottom of the page instead of trimming it off as I often do.

And because I can’t get enough of the Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink (Have you heard!!??  There are 12 new colors being released in July!!?) tinted modeling paste paired with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stencils (as you saw here), I laid down a layer of that along the upper right-hand side before adding anything else.  I combined the floral stencil with a Heidi Swapp word stencil that  says blessing, love, hope, joy, thrive, etc and which captures all the feelings.

Then I pulled together an assortment of die cuts and chipboard pieces from the Ooh La La and the Maggie Holmes - Chasing Dreams lines.

As well, I made a home-made embellishment by stamping some floral images and some leaves on vellum and heat embossing with white powder before fussy cutting them out and layering them overtop of the printed die cuts.

I typed my journaling on the We R Memory Keepers typewriter and added it in strips.  And finally, I used some of the Prima Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint (in Opal Magic Blue-Gold) to add the splats.  I really love the thicker consistency that lets the paint dry with a raised dimension!

The word FAMILY is from the Jen Hadfield Homemade puffy stickers set, and I stamped the words “Brand New” with the Crate Paper Alphabet stamps and colored them with Copics.

It’s been too long since I held this precious bundle in my arms so I’m packing up and heading north next week to spend the summer at the cottage.  Which also puts me much closer to the location of my heart!

Thanks for stopping by today!

KaiserCraft Ooh La La

Morning, all.

The Love is in the Details ladies have been cropping up a STORM these past few days in Winkler! Lori has been spoiling us with surprise challenges, pyjama parties, and a store full of new goodies. Go check out the LIITD Instagram account for pictures of the festivities and some crafty inspiration!

Today is the last day of cropping goodness and I’m excited to continue being inspired by all of their beautiful work but first, maybe I can inspire YOU.

I’m sharing 2 layouts I made using the new KaiserCraft “Ooh La La” collection now available in the store.

Ooh la la, am I right?

I am completely in love with the floral patterns and those diecuts.

{QUEEN bee}

This first 12×12 layout is to document my latest tattoo that I got in June. That white honeycomb die/diecut (available in store) was PERFECT for my honeybee.

Watercolour splatters, dandelion NUVO drops (you NEED this in your life!), and ephemera from my stash finished it off.

For this next 8.5×11 layout I wanted to keep the same basic design (i.e. floral patterned paper at the top with photo/embellishment at the bottom) but have a more organic feel for the “woodsy” picture. Kraft cardstock and neutral colours actually go great with this line.

{LOVE YOU - mistletoe kisses}

This was a speedy layout to make considering I re-used my LO design and kept things simple with minimal embellishments. A quick layout is a good layout in my books.

Pewter sequins from a Halloween pack in the store are randomly scattered over the page to add interest… and when I say random…you know I mean I rearranged them 3 times and had to glue each one down with wet glue and then rearrange again ;)

If you’re not able to be cropping with us this weekend make sure to go check out how PACKED the store is and drool over all the new stuff ASAP. I was dying to get my hands on the Prima Sweet Peppermint line and the newest planner goodies.

Pssst…I hear there are new classes being announced soon and you could be seeing a new face around here!

Shh…I never told you.

Have a lovely Sunday, my friends!
