Bits and Pieces

Good Morning!

Nothing to crazy on the blog today…some paper bags and bits and pieces of embellishments. I hope you won’t be to annoyed…buuuut I used my Crate Paper chipboard pieces…AGAIN! I picked up LOTS of new stickers, chipboard and die cuts from Love is in the Details yesterday though, so do not fear, new products being featured next week! Including new LIITD laser cut chipboard pieces!

I get to see some childhood friends soon, that I haven’t see in forever! Soo, I thought it’d be fun to put together little gifts for each of them!

All the chipboard is from Crate Paper with some random washi tape pieces and scraps of paper. The black and white paper is actually wrapping paper I had left over from Christmas!

The little flowers are from Prima. These are definite must haves! They’re so easy to use in nearly any project.

I picked up some flowers from a local florist, Bloom Petals and Gifts, and spice mixes (also some fancy hot chocolate and cider blends, not pictured) from Gingerwood Lane, a local tea house.

Can’t wait to give these to my beautiful people!

Also…super excited to dig into all my treasures from Love is in the Details!

See you next time!!!

Merry Christmas Eve….

We’ve reached the end of the #12daysofholidaygiftwrap and none too soon!  In fact, we’re packing the last two days into one post today.  I hope one of these ideas can help with your last minute packing, wrapping and gifting!

day11-1

We’ll start with a couple of food-safe gift bags.  I got these from the Love is in the Details store some time ago, and they have come in SO handy a number of times so I hope they’ll be coming back if they’re currently sold out.

day11-4

One bag, I filled with a coconut clusters mix and the second bag is filled with mini gingerbread snaps.  I stamped on the bags themselves with a couple of different stamps; a snowflake background stamp for the top half and a tree stamp for the bottom.  Because I knew I could anticipate trouble with a perfectly stamped impression because of the folds of the bag creating ridges and valleys, I used my MISTI stamping tool, with a bar magnet AND I also taped down the corners of the bag.  It was a good thing too, because this was a repeated stamping situation.

day11-3

One more trick you need to be aware of is about the heat embossing.  Because these bags are meant for food and they have that transparency covered window, they are lined with a coating of plastic.  What does transparency plastic do when you point a heat tool at it?  That’s right, it melts!  So before you start to melt the embossing powder, let it run for at least 30 seconds to get good and hot, so that the job is accomplished with just a few short blasts.  Keep the tool moving and move somewhat quickly.

day11-5

If you’re wondering why these tags look familiar, it’s because they’re leftovers of the tags I designed for the store last year.  They’ve been white foiled with the Minc machine.

For day 12 of this gift-wrap-apalooza, we have these small, sheet-music wrapped boxes.  Our neighbors have 3 very musical boys whose practicing we can hear inside our house.  Occasionally they’ll even come over and perform their recital songs for us, just for the practice on a different piano.  So wrapping these items in sheet music was a no-brainer.

I also die cut some snowflakes from black glitter paper, dug out some of the remaining pieces of wood veneer alphabet letters (and by some stroke of luck, I found all of the letters I needed!?), adhered it all down and tied it all up with red cord.  Pictured below are the supplies I used for these packages.

Thank you for stopping by again today!  Have a very happy holiday season with all the best of your favorite people and traditions!!
