Goin’ to the Chapel….

Hello friends!  Tis the season to be receiving wedding invitations in the mail… We’re off to a wedding ourselves, in Montana next weekend, and I’m ready with the chipboard titles!

As you know, there have been some new laser cut chipboard cuts available in the store recently and today I want to share with you, a set that I’ve created for all the LOVE occasions you might be wanting to express!  Wedding Words will be available in an assortment of sizes - suitable for card making, scrapbook layout titles and home decor pieces.  This is what they look like.

Here are a couple of projects I did using 2 of the laser cuts; a card and a layout.

I’m finally digging into the Indigo Skies paper line from Kaisercraft.  I’ve only been hoarding it for close to a year….  There isn’t a paper pattern in the lot that I don’t love!  All those shades of blue!

For this card, I painted the chipboard sentiment with white spray paint in a well ventilated area (in the backyard), then layered it over some vellum and patterned paper with a strip of ribbon and a few pearl dots to finish it.

Next I have a layout to show you, with photos from my son and daughter-in-laws wedding (nearly 5 years ago!  That blows me away!)

The “hello happiness” sentiment can fit on a regular A2 sized card, but works very nicely for a layout title as well.  This time I left it natural, and layered it over a sticker and some random bits and pieces laying at the bottom of my leftovers container.

Under the photos on this layout, I roughly painted a area slightly larger than the photos and mats, using Dylusions grey paint made from mixing black and white.  Once it dried, I adhered the photos over 4 randomly patterned papers from my stash.

To give more visual weight to the smaller photo, I printed it in color and gave it a chipboard frame as well as adorning it with a pink and gold glitter (ME!  Gold glitter!  I know!) paper bow.

Once more, I dug through the left-overs dish, and layered together an assortment of leaves and die cuts, (to help balance the weight of the grey patterned paper along the left side).  Finally, I recorded their names and dates (minimalist journaling for this page), with a Jumbo alphabet roller stamp.

The laser cutting folks that cut for the store are a little backed up right now, so while these chipboard sentiments aren’t available in the store today, they will be very shortly!  When they do come available, I hope you’ll enjoy using them on your paper crafting projects!  Thanks for stopping by today!

New Classes Announcement!

Hey friends, hi!

I’ve got some news to share with you today!  If you follow Love is in the Details on Facebook or Instagram, then you likely already know that I’ll be heading up to Canada soon, and bringing with me 3 new classes that I’ll be teaching in early July!  The classes will be held over 2 consecutive days so that if you are coming from a distance and want to take in all three, you’ll be able to do so conveniently.  Here is an outline of each of the classes.

Hollyhocks and more!

Cards, gift card holders and a watercolor painting!  In this class we’ll use the hollyhock die from Impression Obsession to create a card and a framed piece of art. We will also do some stamping and coloring to create two gift card holders.  The stamps I’ll be sharing with you are from Jane’s Doodles.  Jane is Croatian; she grew up in Canada, lives now in Croatia and I’m on her design team.  She’s a sweetheart, and a talented artist whose products Lori will so be carrying in the store and you’ll be able to purchase her stamps at 20% off when you sign up for the class!   Finally, I will teach you a partial embossing technique to create another card with die cut flowers and leaves.  Besides the usual finished projects you’ll take home, your class fees will also give you your own die set to keep, as well as a frame for your art!

Summer Fun and Beach Holidays!

The next class is a mini album!  I’ll be showing you a simple but unique way to cut and fold 12″x12″ papers to create a multi-layered and edged album and we will be embellishing it with Elizabeth Craft Designs Peel Off stickers that I will be teaching you how to color and blend.  The colors of the album are bright primary and secondary colors because the theme will be your choice of Summer Fun or Beach Vacation. Perfect colors for those themes, right??  Once again, there will be a ton of product that is yours to keep besides the finished project!

Watercolor Painted Inspiration Book!

This is a class that is inspired by my own recent attending of a class that relit my creative fire and I hope it will do the same for everyone who takes this class!  I’ve altered the project to give it my own style, which I will be sharing with you.  I’ll be demonstrating each of 15 watercolor elements, providing all the tools needed to duplicate the same, (including all the supplies to take home after the class is finished) and encouraging each student to discover their artist within!  This will be a 6 hour class with a break for lunch and at the end you’ll have a handmade journal perfect for inspiring quotes, lists of gratitudes, or whatever you like!  We will make embellishments for the book and learn some basic Zentangle and lettering skills.

I’m really excited to be bringing these classes to the Love is in the Details community and I’m hard at work right now, prepping for July 6 and 7! You can click directly to the class page from hereI hope to see you there!
