Day 6 of the #12daysofholidaygiftwrap…

Hello friends!

We’re back today with yet another gift bag for your holiday gift wrap inspiration!

This bag is a full lunch bag size and it was created after I made my own snowflake stencil.  There are several snowflake stencils available (two different ones in the Love is in the Details store) but I didn’t have them on hand so I plugged in my Silhouette electronic cutter and made my own.

I purchased one cut file (for .99 cents) with 6 different snowflake cut files included and then I was able to manipulate them by sizes and angles and to arrange them on a full 12″ sheet of paper for cutting.

Then I daubed Versamark Ink through all the snowflake holes and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

I used another EK Success edge punch to create the scalloped top on the bag, folded it over and closed it up with some matching washi tape.  I wrapped white ribbon around the whole bag and tied that up with a blue tag adorned with some random bits that were laying on my table, including a glitter paper snowflake, a chipboard photo frame, a die cut heart and a label that I stamped with a Happy Winter sentiment.

All the supplies used are pictured below.

To recap the last 6 days of gift wrap…. we’ve stamped, colored, stenciled, and heat embossed a variety of designs onto brown paper bags of different sizes.  Scroll back on the blog to see each one individually featured along with the supplies and techniques used.

We’re not finished though!  Check back tomorrow for another cool technique and more gift bag inspiration!

Chasing Dreams…

Hello all, I have a layout to share with you today, using a BUNCH of the newly-arrived-in-store-Chasing Dreams line from Crate Paper!  I love this line so much, I can’t even.

So first of all, the name of the line inspired me.  I have a few photos of my daughter hard at work, but I only needed the one to tell this story today.

I especially love the one sheet of paper with the tropics spread all over it!  (Have you heard - tropical is the new black this year?  You heard it here first.)

So I fussy cut around one piece of tropical greenery and vintage floral.  Because it’s like fine Belgian chocolate truffles.  A little goes a long way.  And this way, there’s more for another layout or two.  Economy AND beauty.  Win. Win.

And then the line has a sticker package that doesn’t end.  With a pink camera?  Come ON now.  Yes, cameras have been around awhile, as an embellishment piece, because what else, after all, is scrapbooking, but documenting what the camera captures?  But even so, using them on a page, every page, often felt … a little forced, somehow.  But hello?  On a layout of my daughter who is striving to become a full-time, professional photographer?  Oh, I think so!

I also added a Silhouette - cut leaf bunch.  Because my poor Cameo was feeling neglected and it knows I might be developing feelings for another machine.  But I’ll let you know about that if and when it comes to pass.

chasedream2And then there are the Crate Paper, Oasis alphabet stamps!!  I will be using these a LOT.  They are the perfect shape and size and with a decent selection of markers or paint, will match any and EVERY layout or card you will ever make.  On this layout I went for the color varied, messily colored look.

As well, I got to play with some new Nuvo Dots.  I only got two colors in this shipment, but more are on their way and I couldn’t be more excited!  You guys.  The Crystal drops are transparent!  SO gorgeous!!

I’m predicting this line won’t last long, so get over to the store and getcha some, or let Lori know you will be needing a pizza box stat!

Have a great rest of your day!
