The Results - Witchy’s Contest

Posted by Lori on November 12, 2009

Finally, here are more pictures from “Witchy’s Contest.”  Again, thank you to all who entered, it was so much fun seeing all of the pictures and entries.

First Prize goes to Allison Hamm - Congrats - you have won a $100 Gift Certificate to the Love is in the Details store.

From Allison Hamm - Poem- This was not a requirement of the contest - but we wanted to show you what she sent in with her entry.

My dearest Witchy
It’s sad, but it’s true.
I’ve spent much of October
Thinking about you.

Trying to decide
Just what I might do
To use my supplies
In a way fun, fresh, and new.

My pumpkin you see,
Is no longer white.
It’s now modge podged black
To make it just right.

I glued on some paper
From Making Memories -
“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”
Goes well with my trees

A smaller orange pumpkin
Got scrap paper too,
And a tiny white pumpkin
Got alphas to “Boo”.

The wreath is all swirled
To be a bit crazy.
It definitely wasn’t
A task for the lazy.

Hundreds of strips of
Paper did I curl
And finally a Halloween
Wreath did unfurl.

Fall leaves are quite sparse
As you can see
There are just a few
Attached to my tree.

Colourful leaves, this year
Were quite few
So the six on my tree
Will just have to do.

And last, but not least
For my little display
Is my Halloween tree –
Cute, I must say.

Some holiday tags
I made from my stash
And carefully hung
Each one from a branch.

And so that completes
My Halloween décor
Who knows, over time
I’ll maybe add more

So thanks for the challenge
It really was fun
I can’t wait to see
What everyone’s done!

Full Display - Allison Hamm - Allison also had close up shots here of the wreath and here of her Halloween tree.

Second Prize goes to Serena Gedlaman - Congrats - you have won a $75 Gift Certificate to the Love is in the Details store.

Quoting Serena “I punched out some circles and scalloped circles and layered them up with rub ons then used a hole punch to punch a hole at each scallop - this created some “ornaments” for my Halloween tree.”

Quoting Serena “The leaves are made using coredinations paper and my cricut machine, embossing them with several different cuttlebug folders, sanding and inking the embossing, spritzing them with water so I could crumple and shape them, and finally adding some stickles and sparkly spray to a few.  My little white pumpkin has been diva’ed up with some pretty rhinestones to make a perfect home for the  black widow spider with her bling.”

Full display - Serena Gedlaman - Serena also had a close up picture here of her very cool pumpkin stem (Quoting Serena “One of my orange pumpkins has a scrapbook paper stem and vines (can’t take credit for it the idea comes from Nikki Bellish’s blog) – I loved how it turned out – I am forever “pumpkin diving” in those huge bins looking for the pumpkins with the stems still attached now I don’t have to I can make my own!”)

Third Prize goes to Miranda Hodgson - Congrats - you have won a $50 Gift Certificate to the Love is in the Details store.
