It’s blog hopping day!

And oh my, there’s some great things to show and tell you, and today I’m just going to let the girls fill you in on the kits for October.  And, yes, I said kits (plural).

I also want to tell you that Witchy will be on with her challenge sometime in the next few days, so keep checking back.  She will have her list of instructions, and a picture of the prizes you will have a chance to win.  I hope that lots of you will participate, I think it will be lots of fun.

So, let’s head off over to Chelsea’s blog, and fine out the news about the October kits.  I know that some of the gals have some sneak peeks of “Twilight Fog” and I can’t wait to see them.  Remember to leave a comment on each and every blog to have a chance to win a RAK from Melissa.  Happy hopping everyone!

Online crops, new goodies, and so

much inspiration in our gallery (just click on last uploads - to view by pages OR just click on last uploads, then the top left layout/design so it’s big on your screen and click the arrow - to view by individual/design) - the weekend couldn’t be more perfect.

But, I can’t believe that it went by so fast, and I can’t believe that it’s almost a week since I posted here.  I have been busy, yes, but wow that went by quick.  So, it’s time for some fun stuff, let’s go.

Aren’t these so cute?  (Click here for recipe)

Now this is pretty smart - melted chips and a cookie cutter make the leaves on these easy to make cupcakes.  (Click here for recipe)

I want to find this issue - doesn’t the cover picture look cool?

In this issue - you will find some cool things.  Look at that prima bling on the pumpkin - way cool - but it would be costly.  I wonder if you could peel the bling off and re-use it?  Hmm?

This is so smart - This Jack-o’-Lantern Cheese Ball idea is so creative and EASY! (Gotta love easy!)  Simply cover your favorite cream cheese ball recipe with crushed nacho-cheese chips, then use black olives and a small pickle for the “face” and “stem”.

These are pretty cool too.  Create your own Batty Bites with chocolate-covered cookies (for the “body”) and toaster pastries (for the “wings”), then add some almond or candy eyes and colorful sprinkles to brighten things up!

Sneaking this in - here’s a fun website - Hershey’s Trick or Treats.

Oh, and just one more thing - love these.  (Click here for recipe)

And, before I sign off, Witchy asked me to ask you to take this little quiz.  Please let us know your answer.

For my photography teacher

Haha - yep, that’s you Eva!  Right after supper, something struck me, I needed to get out of the house - I just really felt the urge to take some pictures.  I left a huge mess in my kitchen, hollared downstairs at Chantel to come along, Zero too, and off we went in the car with the camera.  (and yes, you read right, I left my kitchen in one heck of a mess - something is wrong, there must be - *giggle*)  But shucks ….. it was hazy outside ….. it wasn’t a great picture taking evening ….. but come on along for the drive with us anyway.

Heading west along Highway #23 I wanted to go up over the hills and get some snapshots of the windmills - they look so cool ….. but unfortunately, not too many turned out - sky was too hazy - and umm, the sun was in the wrong spot.  (I did listen Miss Eva, I just didn’t follow through - next time, I promise.)  But, here is a couple of shots I did get.

These really didn’t turn out that great - not of the windmills - but we’ll see what Miss Eva says.  I will have to go back, I really would like some good pictures of them - and there is so many - I love how some of them are lined up.

We turned around - and headed back - sun behind us this time.  And next stop - was the round bales - there is something about them that just looks cool to me.  I never baled round bales, but I did custom bale square bales - 4 cents a bale I was paid - Chantel could hardly believe me when I told her that I did that.  The first picture was taken from the highway.

I drove right out in the field to take the next two pictures.  I think you can really see a difference in the details of this next one, but maybe it’s just me.

And this next one, it was taken while we were out in the field, but at more of a distance.  I was trying to center the front round bale.

Next stop was a little park at the top of the hill - just about 2 1/2 miles west of Miami.  Again, I will go back - as it was too hazy.  I climbed up the little lookout stand they have - but the pictures were just not turning out good.  But ….. look who beat me back to the car.

And we drove really slow out of there, and watched him enjoy hanging out of the window.  I couldn’t resist trying to get a picture of his reflection in the side mirror.

Next stop was the Memory Garden - something I really want to show you - but again, just way too hazy out, and I think I left it too late in the day.  I will go back.  But I did manage to get this next one - just by chance - I love it.

I went for a walk around the Memory Garden, and Chantel and Zero went back to the car before me.  Chantel said Zero was crying when he couldn’t see me amongst the trees.  Awww, look at this!

We turned around and went up main street - just to see what was new in Miami, Manitoba - and look what we found - a For Sale sign in the Chatterbox Cafe and Lounge.  I knew they had been considering selling it - but the real estate sign in the front window makes it a reality.

And time to go home, as Chantel reminded me - the kitchen was still one heck of a mess.  But, one more shot for my photography teacher, I had to do a closeup before heading back in the house ….. to the kitchen.

And oh, it was delicious, after I took the picture - I picked it, shined it up and bit right into it ….. so juicy.  Not many on the tree - first year it’s had any - but they are fantastic.

We had fun, Chantel, Zero and me, and I will definitely be doing this again.  Please give me some honest feedback about my picture taking, I know I have lots more to learn, but I do have a really good teacher.

Check out the Classes page - for an upcoming beginner photography class from Eva.  I highly recommend it - I have learned so much about my camera, all of its features, and how to use them.  And remember, she gives us awesome tips and techniques in the Photograpy Plus forum.  (if you aren’t already a member, please join in).
