MERRY CHRISTMAS

&

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope on this Christmas Eve you are all ready to spend time with your family & friends celebrating the holiday season!  Get your stretchy pants on if you’re going to be enjoying wonderful food & holiday treats!!

This is the one time of year I sit down and make cards, I enjoy giving homemade cards to my work family, showing them they are are a special part of my life too!

It may not be a surprise to anyone but my favourite Christmas Dies are made by Tim Holtz!  The Birch Tree thinlet I added to my collection the last time I was at the store.  I couldn’t resist using it for my cards this year!

I cut the Birch Trees from plain white cardstock then used some Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink to colour them.  To make them look a little more realistic I added black splatters using black gesso and a toothbrush.  The toothbrush gives a fine splatter look, there’s always one mixed in with my paintbrushes.

The background paper I made using Ranger Archival Ink in brown to stamp the music sheet pattern, then I coloured the paper with Mermaid Lagoon & Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks.

To create the snowy trees I used some white gesso with glitter on top, it’s so hard to capture the shine of the glitter in photos.  Then I used a small paintbrush with watered down white gesso to splatter the trees.

The only thing these cards are missing is red Stickles to finish off those holly berries, sadly I ran out!  ACK how does that even happen!  Guess I’ll have to shop for some new stickles so I’m ready for next year!!

Oh look……I even decorated the inside of the card!  Shhh don’t tell Lori I followed her rule, for once!

Just like Tim’s dies some of my favourite Christmas Stamps are made by him as well!  These two stamps fit so perfectly together!

I’m off to check my list to make sure I’m all ready for the big day!

I hope you’ll all join me in the New Year for more fun projects!!

Lisa, I love your cards and all the little details. But it must be a Christmas miracle if you are following Lori’s rules !!!
