All good things …

come in pretty packaging. Right?

When this collage paper from Tim Holtz came into the store awhile ago, I had to have one (well, one of each, but I am only showing one right now). I had no idea what I was going to do with it, but I knew that there would be lots of options.

timholtzcollagepaperThis past weekend, I found out what one of those options would be, and I love it. I also realized how much fun this product is going to be to work with, and the ideas started spinning in my head. For today, here is the first idea I have tried.

As you probably could have guessed, it has to do with gift wrapping. It was so easy to jazz up this package using the collage paper with some diluted matte medium. I simply cut the collage paper to size, started covering the package in the matte medium (just with a cheap paint brush) and then spread the collage paper onto the wrapping paper, doing a section at a time.

I covered a tag with the wrapping paper, heat embossed one of our LIITD chipboard pieces, added it and a few other decorations to the tag and attached it to the gift.

I finished off the package with some red tulle … and voila … one spectacular wrapped gift!

I am very impressed with how easy this collage paper is to work with, and can’t wait to try it on another project.
