Shake it up!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing Mom’s out there!!

Today is extra happy for me, the Jets one last night…..but even better my youngest came home from his school trip to Quebec!  He had lots of fun and some amazing experiences during his week there!

Back in April when I went to one of the LIITD weekend crops I did a demo of some new product Lori brought in for me…Lindy’s Magical Shakers!  These are a great die powder with amazing color selection!  I love that you don’t have to worry about them drying out or the spray nozzle getting clogged!  When you first shake the powder on your project they don’t look like much, but as soon as you add water the magic really happens!

Bavarian Blue

Afternoon Delight Denim

Bratwwurst Brown

I love the flecks of different colored pigments in these shakers giving a unique look to your project!

Quite often when I create I don’t really have a plan, I just pick some products I want to use and go from there.  When I started this I knew I wanted to use the shakers for color, then I dug through a basket of some older stash and pulled out these Prima wooden door embellishments.  I love the blue & yellow together!

I also dug out some old ephemera, but it wasn’t quite antiqued enough for me so I added a layer of Tim Holtz Vintage Distress Collage Medium.  Another product I haven’t used nearly enough!

Remember my last post I talked about using your packaging……well I used some more  on this  project too!  I had kept a few pieces of packaging from some Tim Holtz stencils, I loved the worn looking paper.  I pulled those out of my stash to cut out the floral pieces using some Tim Holtz dies!

The rusty corner piece has been sitting on my desk for…oh I don’t even know how long…I think it was for a different project that never got finished, but I went perfectly with this one!

I really love how striking the blue background created using the Lindy’s Magical Shakers is so bright to show off all the other elements I used!

This was fun to make, just playing with both new & old products on my desk!  Remember not every project needs to be a masterpiece, sometimes you just need to play!

I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day spending time in the beautiful weather with the ones you love!
