Hard day at the office….

Hello friends!  I’m back with another traveler’s notebook layout to share!  And a cool product line to tell you about!

Do you ever get a little tired of all the scrapbook stickers and die cuts with nothing but happy, cheerful, adorable words and phrases?  I mean, they’re great for all the happy, cheerful, adorable photos and memories, but let’s be realistic, that’s not what most days are like.  Sometimes you just want to express the grump and tell it like it really is!  Well, Pink Fresh has a line for you!  It’s called A Case of the Blahs, and it has something for every occasion that isn’t happy, cheerful or adorable, but is worthy of remembering.  Or even just for the regular, everyday days.  They’re worth remembering too.

The event I’ve documented today, was meant for this line.  One year ago, at 3 months old, our grandson had to undergo surgery to correct a condition where the skull had fused before birth.  It’s called Craniosynestosis and in his case, it was the forehead (metopic suture) that was fused.  That was not a fun day.  Not for him or his mommy and daddy, or for the extended family too far away to offer comfort.  The Drs at the Mayo Clinic assured them it was a routine process. I’m here to tell you, it’s anything but routine when it’s your own little baby boy they’re operating on!

I used some paper from the Blahs line to cover the left hand page, and some of the alphabet stickers from that line to spell out HARD.  And I used the “It’s NOT all good…” sticker to express exactly how I feel/felt.  I added a typewritten strip of paper that says A no-good, terrible, VERY (hard day).  Kind of riffing off the kid’s book titled Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

I also added some phrase stickers from my stash including the Home of the Brave sticker and it’s not even for a 4th of July page!

I can’t stop saying it, it’s just so great to have an UGH sticker finally!  So many things in life need an UGH sticker.

Happily, Archie is fully recovered from his surgery, and even better, today we got the news that the helmet he has had to wear to reshape his forehead, for 23 hours of every day for the entire last year, is off and finished with!  Today we celebrate!!  And document the day it all began.

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you’re interested, this line is in stock in the Love is in the Details store.
