Day 7 of the #12daysofholidaygiftwrap…

Hello, hi!

Back again today, with another cool idea for brown paper packaging!

This time I’m playing with embossing folders and check out what I came up with!

It’s a pretty quick and simple way to dress up a plain brown paper bag, to run it through an embossing folder.  I used a snowman folder for this bag, and just to really make the snowman outline pop, I colored in the DEpressed snowflakes with a white Signo Uniball pen, and then outlined the whole snowman with a very pale grey Copic marker.  Then I added a bit of washi tape along the side of the bag, and a stamped journaling label at the top.  To close the bag, I punched two holes equal distance from the edges, and laced some black cord and red striped baker’s twine through the top and tied it up.  One thing I learned by doing this technique, is that you really only need to make one pass through the Big Shot with a paper bag in an embossing folder.  Sandwich bag paper is not very thick and is in danger of tearing along the embossed lines if you go back and forth multiple times.  But a single pass is enough to get a nice embossing.

The supplies I used are pictured below.

Thanks for stopping by today, check back tomorrow for more gift bag inspiration!
