So very blessed

To say that it’s been hectic around here lately would be the understatement of the year, but we are still surviving and plugging along.  Sometimes I give my head a shake and ask myself what the heck we are doing … and then the next part of me is bursting with excitement.

I am not good with being unorganized and in a mess and feel sometimes like I am going to lose my mind or explode … but I take a few deep breaths, okay, maybe a lot of deep breaths … and get another box and fill it up with more stuff from our home.

I gotta say … thank heavens for Varage Sale.  We have sold a lot of stuff on there and met a lot of great people.  It’s always nice to know that you can get rid of some of the things you no longer need and sell them to someone else for a great price.

With that said, my scrap room is all packed up, I didn’t go through everything, I just packed it up … but I am going to have to downsize.  The things that I no longer need/want/have space for will be put at the new store sometimes for a little garage sale there.  I can’t promise when … just some time when I have time to get to it.

With all of this, I have not hit the scrap table at all as there is nothing there.  Today as I was taking pictures of things to put on Varage Sale, it came to mind that a friend, Beverly Giesbrecht, had sent me some pictures of her gorgeous cards she had made with products from our store.

How happy I was that I remembered that she had sent them, and that she said I could share them.  Thank you Beverly, because of you, there is a blog post today … and as your card says …

I am so very Blessed to have such amazing people in my life!

Hi-eee! …waving…

Hi, hello!  I feel like I’ve been gone since forever after missing my last blog post here!  Long story short…arrived at the cottage after a long 4 day haul….electrical storms…no phone….no internet….no cell service….forced disconnection from all that I hold near and dear.  Kids before Instagram obviously, but only barely.

But we’re back up and running now and I have a nannouncement to make!  Usually nannouncements need drum rolls, but this one isn’t quite at that level.  No new babies, or retirements (though that one is coming soon I hope) or marriages.  Just a class or two.  In the fall.  Soon as the store re-opens!  Now there’s an event big enough for a drum roll, amiright?!

The first class I’ll be teaching is one we had thought to hold at the Spring Crop, but when that plan fell apart, we decided to hold it later this summer (or fall).  So DIY Embellishments will be held at the new store location on Saturday, Sept 9 at 9:30 am.  We’ll be using 12 different techniques to create dozens of embellishments for you to use on cards, layouts and mini albums.

The next class is The Vonderful Vorld of Vellum!  I’ll be showing you at least 4 different techiques for using vellum on your cards to create that extra detail that kicks your cards up a notch!  This class will be held on Saturday, Sept 9 at 1:00 pm.

I’ve been working on putting these classes together for a while now and I hope to see you there!  Watch the Classes page of the website for prices and supply lists.

Have a great and wonderful day!

I miss you!

It’s been two weeks since we closed, and it seems like it’s been a lot longer than that.  I miss you! It’s just not the same when I don’t get to see and hear from all of you.  This card that Norine made says it all … it’s so true …

The finishing of the store is moving along, it’s been a learning experience for me … I find myself saying a lot of this ….

What happens next? When do you do this?and my favorite …………………………….. ohhhhhh that looks awesome! *grin*

Remember in this post here when I showed you a picture of my future office window?  Well, here is a couple of sneak peeks of what has happened since then.

What a difference it made when this happened.  When the taper was there, it was so humid and muggy out that I had to go and rent a heater so that it would dry in time for the next step.  Wow it got hot in there, but it worked.  The furnace can’t be turned on at this point as there is too much dust in the area.  Thankfully, it didn’t take long to cool off again, or the painter would have cooked.  lol

And here is that same space painted … not a great picture … but I don’t want to give away too much, as I want it all to be a surprise when it’s finished.

This new space is so different then the “old store” (wow, it seems odd to say that).  In the “old store” there was the store space, the teaching room, and the office/storage/furnace all in one room.  It’s going to be so different and so nice to have an actual office without storage and a furnace in the same room.  I am loving the open space of the store, it looks so HUGE, in fact I think I could do laps and get a good long walk in, lol.

There’s a little update of what’s happening at the new store … and it’s time now for me to finish my coffee and start packing some more things here at home.  Cause yes, we are also moving out of our house at the same time.  Yep, call us crazy, but in our life it seems everything happens at once.  And you got it, that means my scrap space is being packed up and I will have future blog posts of how I set up my new space, which is going to be very different than what I have now.  (by the way, packing is NOT fun)

Hope you are having a great summer … can’t wait to see you all again soon!
