Howdy y’all! I’m here today with a layout I made using the fantastically fun collection called Golden Days by Fancy Pants. It’s a line reminiscent of a few other lines I can think of, (Basic Grey, Gossamer Blue) from a few years ago, which suits me just fine, because I still have some old product that I can use along with this one to compliment. As well, today you are getting the benefit of my mess up so you don’t have to make the same mistake yourself.
For the background of the layout, I combined 4 different patterned papers from the pack. I am totally in love with these papers, so don’t be surprised if you see them again soon!
I used a variety of leaves on this page, from wood veneer to canvas fabric cut with a die, as well as some labels from the old stash.
I cut the title tag on my Silhouette electronic cutter and wrote my journaling on another tag.
I really wanted to stamp a phrase on my photo. I knew Stazon Ink was the best option for that and the MISTI tool would serve well if I didn’t get a perfect impression the first time round.
The Stazon ink is the top line. My ink pad was dry. When I stamped the first time, it lifted the photo with it and there went my chances for a perfect 2nd impression. But I tried anyway, and you can see the result. Well, I’d ruined that photo anyway, so why not use it for some testing with some of my other inks. Just to see and prove to myself which worked best and why. Lines 2, 3, 4 and 5 are stamped (in order) with Versafine Onyx Black ink (pigment ink), Simon Says Stamp Black ink (dye ink), Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink (dye ink) and My Favorite Things Black ink (hybrid ink). Then came the smear test. You can see for yourself how well each performed. Those middle inks have still not dried! The Stazon was the winner. So how to get around the sticky (drying out) ink pad? Get off my lazy behind and dig in another drawer to find the re-inker and just re-ink the bloomin’ ink pad already!! And then, success!! The last line is the result of using a freshly inked Stazon pad, and was even inked and stamped twice!
I then reprinted my photo on my Canon Selphy home photo-printer (that thing has saved my bacon many a time!) and tried stamping again. Love, love, LOVE the look of black ink stamped on a photo!
Some die cuts from Pink Paislee, washi tape from Carpe Diem, and finally, some ink blots, and this page was done!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
