Hello!  Apologies first, you came to see what clever new thing Lori has up her sleeve and instead you get me.  But don’t despair.  The reason she couldn’t show you what she’s been working on is because she’s busy filling the store with all the wonderful, fun new goodies that will end up in YOUR shopping cart, if I have my guess!  So I don’t have anything LiitD-specific to show you, but I have been paper crafting my little face off, nonetheless.  (If you are on Instagram, you might already have seen these there).  For the month of March I’ve been participating in a 30 day coloring challenge and I got myself organized enough at the beginning (by stamping images and planning how I’d make them into cards before I even colored them) to be able to keep up with coloring and making a card every day this month!  I’ve only missed one day!  Kind of impressed with myself about that!  So I thought I’d show you a few of them here.  Lots of different styles, mediums and techniques, so if you have any questions, leave them in the comments and I’ll follow up.  Here we go!

Quite a variety, as I mentioned.  I’ve used my Copic markers, my Tombow dual brush pens, my Zig real brush pens, and watercolor paint.  I’ve colored from my stash of OLD digital stamps that I downloaded and printed years ago, and stamped some new images I’ve just acquired.  I’ve also made cards from pages of coloring books that I colored and cut up.  Changing things up helped keep things fresh and interesting.  There are only a few more days left of the challenge, and I still have lots of images I’d love to do, but I think they’ll go into a folder for the next 30 day challenge that comes along.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Leave a comment if you have any questions!

Chasing Dreams…

Hello all, I have a layout to share with you today, using a BUNCH of the newly-arrived-in-store-Chasing Dreams line from Crate Paper!  I love this line so much, I can’t even.

So first of all, the name of the line inspired me.  I have a few photos of my daughter hard at work, but I only needed the one to tell this story today.

I especially love the one sheet of paper with the tropics spread all over it!  (Have you heard - tropical is the new black this year?  You heard it here first.)

So I fussy cut around one piece of tropical greenery and vintage floral.  Because it’s like fine Belgian chocolate truffles.  A little goes a long way.  And this way, there’s more for another layout or two.  Economy AND beauty.  Win. Win.

And then the line has a sticker package that doesn’t end.  With a pink camera?  Come ON now.  Yes, cameras have been around awhile, as an embellishment piece, because what else, after all, is scrapbooking, but documenting what the camera captures?  But even so, using them on a page, every page, often felt … a little forced, somehow.  But hello?  On a layout of my daughter who is striving to become a full-time, professional photographer?  Oh, I think so!

I also added a Silhouette - cut leaf bunch.  Because my poor Cameo was feeling neglected and it knows I might be developing feelings for another machine.  But I’ll let you know about that if and when it comes to pass.

chasedream2And then there are the Crate Paper, Oasis alphabet stamps!!  I will be using these a LOT.  They are the perfect shape and size and with a decent selection of markers or paint, will match any and EVERY layout or card you will ever make.  On this layout I went for the color varied, messily colored look.

As well, I got to play with some new Nuvo Dots.  I only got two colors in this shipment, but more are on their way and I couldn’t be more excited!  You guys.  The Crystal drops are transparent!  SO gorgeous!!

I’m predicting this line won’t last long, so get over to the store and getcha some, or let Lori know you will be needing a pizza box stat!

Have a great rest of your day!
