Gingerbread cookies…

Posted by Norine on January 11, 2017

As if, with the recent change in government in my adopted country, the days were legislated to now be 36 hours long, I’ve taken up a new hobby.  Cake and cookie decorating.  THAT’S a whole new world, let me tell you!  I shared some of these cookies with the grandchildren of some friends of ours (but hey! we’re getting a grandchild of our own in 5 long weeks, have I mentioned that recently??) and got this darling photo in return.  I’ve been DYING (no, I’m not an especially dramatic person, why do you ask??) to play with the Photoplay Mad4Plaid paper pack I got last fall and these photos pretty much demanded to be scrapped with that line!!

Should I apologize yet that the last 3 out of 4 (of my) blog posts have been layouts?  Maybe the next one will be cards, or a technique, but don’t count on it.  My stack of layouts created in 2016 is such a sad little pile that I feel like I might stick with this form of paper crafting for a little while yet.

It’s a pretty straight-forward layout, with title alphas by Simple Stories, Jellybean Soup and Teresa Collins (9&Co), chipboard pieces and stickers by Teresa Collins, laser cut chipboard snowflakes by BoBunny, pine needle die cuts by Tim Holtz/Sizzix and various accent dots from WeR Memory Keepers and Prima.  As well as the aforementioned PhotoPlay Plaid line.

And now for the artsy slanted, depth of field, fuzzy focus shot.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Feel free to go find yourself a cookie.  You know you want to.

Those cookies do look Yum.  Sweet LO.  Did you use a big snowflake block stamp under the photo?

Thanks Brooke and Peggy!  Yes Peggy, I did use a big background snowflake stamp (by Stampendous) and lifted and pressed all around to keep the edges random and organic.
