Plan It Like It’s Hot

Morning all!

There’s a married lady here with you today…psssst…it’s me, Brooke! Yes, I got married on Friday! Yes, it was magical & wonderful & lovely & exciting and we are floating on cloud 9 right now. We are currently ¬†on our way back to Winkler from Thunder Bay (where we had the wedding) so that we can fly to Mexico tomorrow for our honeymoon. Yay! I’ll have a blog post up while I’m in Mexico detailing my handmade bridal bouquet so stay tuned for that crafty goodness!

Today I’m sharing a peek into my Carpe Diem planner for the week leading up to the wedding. I knew the wedding week would be hectic so I wanted to make sure I had my planner ready to go to try and keep my sanity a little bit. It worked! (Well, as much as I could keep my sanity while having a wedding).

I used the Carpe Diem Posh line for my November 21-27 weekly spread. I wanted it to be bright, pretty, and simple to fill in.

I added in my “to-do’s” and schedule as I decorated which isn’t how I usually do it. I usually decorate a bit then add in my personal stuff and then decorate a bit more.

I appreciate how bright and functional the Posh line is and that it coordinates with the ResetGirl inserts. It makes it easy to mix and match to get more bang for your buck.

I love to add little 2×3 pictures throughout my planner to add a personal touch and remind me what I’m really planning for. The little picture of Ryan and I was taken a few weeks before the wedding when we went to check out our venue. That’s when it started to really hit us that we were getting MARRIED. And now we are! (Can you tell I’m still super excited??)

The first thing I did to this “planner spread” was add Prima watercolours. Watercolours in your planner? Yup. The paper is so sturdy that it can take the watercolour quite well. It ripples a bit as you can see in the picture, but that doesn’t bother me since the other side of the page will be getting decorated as well anyway. I used my Prima waterbrush (best tool ever!) to quickly swipe paint around the pages, left it to dry while I went to get a snack, and came back to a pretty “canvas”. I also added some of the Posh bits & pieces over the watercolour for a bit more oomph. The bits & pieces are my fave and they’re so great for scrapbooking projects.

I forgot to snap a pic but you can see in the background of the picture that I’ve been using my Posh bookmark tablet to do some wedding listing. The notepads are SO handy and they slip so nicely into the vertical pocket at the back of the planner!

I’m glad I had my planner to help me this past week.

Wedding planning is hard, guys. Even if it’s a small wedding without a formal reception. I can’t even imagine planning a big shindig with 300 people.

I’m glad it’s over and now I’m excited to share wedding crafts and pictures with you!

Stay tuned, friends!
