Hard to resist…

Hello everyone! I got digging through my LiitD stash cubby for today’s post and found some old Prima resist canvas paper and die cuts that had been passed over one too many times. Today was their day! Without actually having an end goal in sight, I just started playing with them. I spritzed them well with water, and then started applying some watercolor paint in random patches of color. After they were dry I assembled these cards with a few of the pieces.

The fun little dew drop beads are available in the store in one color, but I know Lori can get more colors in too.

The background checkerboard design is more Prima resist paper. Where the paint colors are the lightest are where I soaked up some of the paint with a paper towel before letting it dry completely. A couple of years ago, my friend Laura, gave me a very large baggie of leftover burlap in several yummy colors, and that was something else in my stash that has been passed over too often, and finally got to come out and play today! I’m here to tell you that burlap cuts very nicely with the Big Shot, but you will want to first back your piece with some strong adhesive paper so the thin stem bits don’t fall apart.

I cut the hello from some gold foil cardstock. Ain’t nothin’ beats that for glamour!

Here are the die cut pieces assembled on a card. I had a package of leaves, flowers and butterflies and they got painted many different colors. I could make many more cards before they run out, or before I get tired of them! I made this card with a gift card envelope bag right on the front, because cute chevron like that cannot be hid inside a card!

There are still some pretty resist canvas borders available in the store, and I know Lori can hook you up with whatever other designs are available as well! I really think you should try it; it’s fun to paint them, and so easy to coordinate with the colors of any project you’re working on!

Thanks for stopping by today!
