Days on the Beach…

Hi everybody!  I’m not a Project Lifer, but I do see the appeal for families with children at home and all the activities they bring.  I wish it had been a thing when my own were young and keeping us busy.   I also love a lot of the “product” that is made for pocket page documenting, so earlier this summer, when I was in the store, I picked up a couple of sheets of paper designed specifically for pocket pages.  And decided I would use them on a regular scrapbook layout.

That’s what you see here.  Notice the two 3″x4″ panels above the photos?  Those are cut from the Kaisercraft paper line called Sandy Toes.  There are a few designs but the back side of the water paper I used here is all 4″x6″ panels for use in pocket pages.  The same is true for the graphic paper on the lower part of the layout.

This layout gave me the chance to pull out some of the “beach vacation” stash I’ve been hoarding, as well as some newer bits and pieces I’ve just acquired.  Because all the random embellishments could tend to distract and overwhelm, I tried to create uniformity by keeping to a limited color palette.  Obviously the colors in the paper line pointed in the obvious direction, but not as obvious is the pop of orange (which is a complimentary color to the blue, and so is a logical choice, design-wise.

I didn’t have anything in particular to say on this layout;  it’s just another page documenting my appreciation for a good beach/vacation day, so in the absence of lines of thoughtful, insightful journaling, I adhered a few of the mini word and phrase stickers by Authentique - Petite Diction.  LOVE those things!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you’re getting a chance to get scrappy!
