Hi there blog followers!! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! I hope you get to eat some turkey this weekend! (On that note…do you KNOW how hard it is to do a Canadian Thanksgiving where I am, in the southwest USA?? Forget fresh turkeys. Forget even whole frozen turkeys! I have a Turkey Breast With Some Leg and Back Meat thawing right now and will be happy to have that much! And if I want a pumpkin pie I’ll have to make it myself! Which I will. There might only be 3 of us left here this year, 4 with my brother who’s visiting, but we will have ourselves a Canadian Thanksgiving if we have to shoot us a bird to do it! The upside is, we’ll do it all again in about 6 weeks time!)
I have a layout to show you today. Of the birds who are missing from the nest this year, (who are all celebrating Thanksgiving with family up North). But for whom I am ever so grateful. They make me who I am, and my life is so much better, funner, funnier and infinitely more interesting, because of them! And yes, the photo comes from DEEP in the archives!
I used the FabScraps Shabbylicious line from the Love Store. The papers are so pretty and delicate and feminine and while it’s not something I reach for often, I LOVED using them for this layout. I have a whole other project in mind for them as well…couldn’t get enough with just a layout!
The birds on the branch is a chipboard laser cut die from Blue Fern Studios. I covered the top surface with embossing ink and then heat embossed with white emboss powder. Love that enameled look for a bit of a change.
The feather…I found while out walking the other day. I love the feather trend right now, but I love REAL feathers even more!
I love the decorative frames from Prima that Lori has in the store as well! You might wanna getcha some!
Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy your holiday weekend doing whatever makes it wonderful!!
What a lovely LO of the family Norine! I’m loving the feathers too!
Beautiful layout Norine, you make adding all the little pieces/accents look so easy. Love how you did your title with the feather !
