It’s a sticky situation!

Hello everyone Lisa here with my first official post on the Love Is In The Details blog!!  Lori has given the Creative Team access to do our own Creative Team posts…..yay!!  But don’t worry I’m sure Lori will still be around to share stories and other stuff…I think she’s past due for a Shrek & Fiona post, don’t you?

Those of you that know me & my style, know I’m not much of a glitter/bling kind of gal, distressing is much more my thing.  But when it comes to Christmas I’m all about the sparkle & shine, so when I saw that Lori had gotten some of Ranger’s new Dry Stickles Fine Glitter in stock, along with the Sticky Embossing Powder I just had to get my hands on some!

Today I have 3 cards to share with you using the Sticky Embossing Powder with Dry Stickles, Glittler Ritz and Ranger’s Perfect Pearl Powder.

To create the background on my first card I randomly stamped some snowflakes using Ranger Distress Emboss Ink, covered the ink with the Sticky Embossing Powder, once melted with my heat gun it was ready for some glitter!  I used both Star Dust and Silveron different snowflakes for a little more interest.

It’s so hard to capture just how glittery this is, but trust me if you are looking for maximum shine then you are going to want this stuff!  Here’s a little close up for you…

On my next card I decided to try the Sticky Embossing Powder with some Glitter Ritz, you know had to play a little more and see how these two would work together.  I will say that the results are fabulous, and my favorite thing about the Sticky Embossing Powder is that I have another fantastic use for all my stamps…yay!!

Here I stamped opposite corners again using Dirstress Emboss Ink, coating the images with the Sticky Embossing Powder, then applied some Glitter Ritz in a soft wintery green.

Once again the effect of the glitter is so beautiful, here’s a little close up.

I do love both of these glitters, so what’s the difference?  Well I find the Ranger Dry Stickles is not as fine as Glitter Ritz, and I also think that the sparkle you get from Glitter Ritz is a little more subtle than the Dry Stickles.  If you love glitter, you are going to want both of these…trust me on this! ;) And if you need another excuse to pull out those stamps be sure to grab some Sticky Embossing Powder while you’re at it!

Now on my last card I wanted a totally different look so instead of using either of the glitters above I decided to try using Ranger’s Perfect Pearls powder with the Sticky Embossing Powder.  Again I created a custom background for this card using Tim Holtz Wallpaper Stamp, with the Distress Emboss Ink & Sticky Embossing Powder.  Once my background was nice and sticky I covered it with a coat of Perfect Pearls.  I did find that with just one coat the background was still a little sticky so I added another lighter coat of the Perfect Pearls to get rid of the stickiness.

I really wish you could all see this card in person because the background is so beautiful, it has the most perfect pearlized finish to it.  In this close up you can just see a bit of the shine the Perfect Pearls give off…

I hope that you’ve enjoyed my post today, I have had so much fun putting this together to share with all of you!!

If you’re going to the Fall Crop come and see me at the demo table, I’ll be bringing these cards so you can see them in person!

Love your cards Lisa !!  The lamppost card is my favourite.  So would the sticky embossing powder work with versamark ink or does it have to be the distress ink ?

Kim - The sticky ebmossing powder will work with versa mark or any other brand of emboss ink.  You know me I love my distress inks! ;)
