Creative Sunday ~~ Chelsea & Norine

Hi everyone!! It’s Chelsea here again with another little something to share with you!!

I tend to try to get the most out of my scrapbooking supplies. I mean, it’s not like we spend pennies on this stuff, right? Why not get your money’s worth?! When buying a paper pack, you will notice that MOST packs come with a front page that looks like this…

Now, most people might throw this paper out. After all, it’s not really patterned paper, or stickers. However, when you want to make the most out of your supplies, make them go the extra mile, you might think to cut into this sheet of paper and use what you can. And that is just what I did for this layout.

All of the little paper strips under the photo were cut from the packaging paper, as well as the red hot air balloon, and both clouds. Since the paper was very thin, I decided to stick EVERYTHING on top of black cardstock not only to add some strength but to also give a lot of contrast.

So in all, I barely touched what was actually inside of this paper pack (which is a good thing since I have used almost all of it on other projects!!), and instead created almost an entire layout using just the packaging title sheet!!

Norine also met the challenge to use some scrappy packaging on a layout!

Quite often, supplies come with heavier card stock backing, and that was the case with these chipboard buttons by Pink Paislee. The London Market theme of sheet music was printed on the packaging insert and made a great photo mat background.

As well, she noticed that the buttons removed from their backing left a cool design that would make a great paint/mist mask, so she punched all the rest of them out, took off the sticky backing and made a mask with some extra newspaper to make sure the paint didn’t over spray.

Using two different colors of spray mist, she misted a pattern onto some dot patterned paper.

Here’s the finished result!

Why don’t you all give it a try, ladies?! Make your supplies go that extra mile!!

I love these ideas ladies! I don’t like to throw out the packaging either. Now I must get inspired to see what I can come up with. Thanks Chelsea and Norine
