The weekend’s here …..

The weekend is here, and I am happy to say that I have accomplished a lot this past week, even down to getting all my weekend housework done, what a great feeling.  Maybe I will have time to sneak in to my scraproom this weekend.  The weather has been cool, rainy, and gloomy, so it just might be the perfect scrappy weekend.

Chelsea, Lisa, and Norine, they have been playing with new stuff, older stuff, just a mixture of goodies, and I wanted to show you these layouts, and maybe give you a little inspiration to sneak into your scrap space.

Quoting Chelsea ~~ “While I have mostly used the Everyday Moments line from Teresa Collins for my boys, I used my girls for this one layout. The yellows certainly bring an extra feminine touch to the line and it’s not a bright yellow, it’s nice and soft…”

Quoting Lisa ~~ “Another random layout trying to use a little more stash to make room for all the new Winter CHA goodies! I also wanted to pull out my dies & stamps and just have some fun.  I used the Prima chicken wire stamp and Tim Holtz journey man tissue tape on this layout.”

Quoting Norine ~~ “Using the 100 Days of Summer line.”

What’s up for the weekend?  What’s your plans?  Some of you will be coming to the end of spring break, and maybe fitting in some extra family time before school starts again next week.  Whatever you are doing, have a happy and safe weekend!

Creative Sunday ~~ Lisa ~~ Then and Now

This past week and weekend has flown by, but I have jam packed in so many different activities and seen so many friends ….. each different piece makes me smile.  Lots of visiting, lots of laughs, all of it - so much fun.

And, now, I want to show you something to make you smile, I actually got to see Lisa’s sweet Sami today, she is so cute.

Quoting Lisa ~~ “I was going through my photos looking for something and came accross these two photos of my daughter Sami, both taken on the first day of school 2 years appart. I was a little shocked to see how much she had grown in those 2 years, it’s so easy to forget how little your kids once were.

Of course I had to make a layout documenting her growth, and couldn’t resist playing with some of the new My Minds Eye Follow Your Heart Collection.”

Quoting Lisa ~~ “One of the pieces from this line I picked up was the Follow Your Heart Be Amazing Transparencies, this is not something I usually go for, but I really loved the patterns and thought they’d be great for layering.  I took one of the transparencies and cut it in half to frame the center banner on my page, here’s a closeup …..”

Quoting Lisa ~~ “It turned out just right, adding a subtle layer and some extra interest to my page. Also if you look at the bottom of the banner you will see the little ‘Follow Your Heart’ banner, this was cut from the Manufacturer strip that comes on the bottom the pattern papers. Just wanted to show you that those little strips aren’t always a waste!

I also added one of the Grid Bitty Bags placing a tag inside with a special note for Sami to read when she’s older.

This is a super cool layout Lisa and I am happy to see you use a transparency, I haven’t used one of those myself in a long time, and I actually picked up this sheet as well.  Sami has grown up so much, and I love seeing all the changes in her, she is becoming quite the little lady - sweet as can be.  You know I love your layering, and you have ROCKED the layering in this layout - it’s absolutely stunning.
