Creative Sunday ~~ Lori

Happy Sunday!  How is everyone today?  Today it is cloudy and cool, the sun is peeking out every once in awhile, but I think it’s going to remain a cool day.  I have many little jobs to do today, but I am going to take a walk later and admire the flowers and gardens in town.

Today I want to show you something new to LIITD.  On the shopping page, I have just listed two new sets of mini wooden houses and new white satin angel wings.

I painted this set of mini houses white with Claudine Hellmuth blank canvas paint - I love this paint, I love how it covers and I love how fast it dries.  I decorated them with some papers, rubons, buttons, ribbon, and our new satin angel wings.  This set of mini houses is on the shopping page as Wood Mini House Set 1.

This set of mini houses I distress stained with walnut distress stain, broken china distress stain, and peeled paint distress stain.  This was so fast and easy and looks so nice on the wood.  I added papers, ribbon, buttons, rubons, and covered the edge of the happy days house with Claudine Hellmuth matte medium and then sprinkled it with Melissa Frances mica flakes.  This set of mini houses is on the shopping page as Wood Mini House Set 2.

I love how these mini houses turned out and they were so much fun to do.  They also were not a project that took a long time, something that you can start and finish in a short amount of time.

I have these houses on display in my home, but I can’t think of anything better than wrapping them up in a glassine bag with a paper doily and baker’s twine to give as a little gift to a friend.  The little gift could be personalized to the receiver’s taste and I think they would be absolutely adorable.
