Dig Deep into that Stash …..

Posted by Lori on August 14, 2011

and see what you can find.  Deep in my stash I do have some *oldies* but *goodies* - actually quite a few of them.  I have to say that one of my most favorite *oldies* is Basic Grey Blush.  I love everything about it - the colors, the papers, and I am pretty sure that this line was Basic Grey’s first ever card kit.  Deep in my stash - was one of these card kits.

I wanted to work with this kit, but I didn’t just want to follow the instructions and make the cards that the kit was designed to make.  The cards the kit was designed to make are shown along the top of the card kit package.

I decided to just dive in and make a few cards of my own.  I wanted to have a *just in case* card - and made this cute simple one with the XO.

I never have an anniversary card on hand, and although I don’t send a lot of anniversary cards, it is good to have one ready.

And I have used every one of my wedding cards, and with the rubons in this kit - it was pretty easy to come up with one to have on hand.

Digging deep into photos, I decided I wanted to scrap these next photos - *oldies* but *goodies* for sure.  My Auntie Vera (my Dad’s sister) - she so loves birthdays, and we always had to do something for her birthdays.  When I look at these pictures, I smile, I remember this day so well.  I was in the house cooking something, and Dad went and got Auntie Vera and brought her over for her birthday.  Now she was invited over later, but Dad wanted her there now.  We all had to go outside and get our picture taken with Auntie Vera on her 80th birthday - Dad insisted.

I smile and think how ironic it is that I would choose these - this weekend - today - as it’s Auntie Vera’s 93rd birthday today.  Auntie Vera is in a home, she doesn’t know any of us anymore, it’s sad, but it’s so nice to have these pictures - pictures that I did not want taken as I so dislike having my picture taken.  It’s time like these that I must remember - take the picture - just smile and have it taken.  One day someone will be looking back at a picture and happy that it was taken - just like I did today.    Happy Birthday Auntie Vera!
